The Conventional Approach

 In most standard installations, temperature sensors are mounted directly in a pipe or tank. That means the process has to stop the moment a sensor needs to be removed for testing or recalibration:

• The tank must be emptied or the line shut down to prevent media from escaping, resulting in unplanned production downtime.

• When the sensor goes back in, qualified personnel need to ensure correct reinstallation in compliance with 3-A and EHEDG standards, followed by a full CIP cycle to rule out contamination.
